Mid-Columbia Council of Governments – The Transportation Network is the Medicaid Transportation Broker for fourteen (14) Oregon counties. We broker transportation for Baker, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Hood River, Lake, Malheur, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Wasco, Wheeler counties.
Who is eligible?
To use this service you must be eligible under Columbia Gorge CCO, Eastern Oregon CCO, the state of Oregon’s Oregon Health Plan (OHP) program, be going to a medical service covered by your plan and have no other transportation available.
How much does it cost?
There is no charge. An escort/personal care attendant may ride with you, at no cost, if you need assistance with mobility or for medical reasons.
Please call us as soon as you schedule your medical appointment to set up your ride. Our transportation providers provide other transportation besides Medicaid transportation, so short notice requests are difficult for us to arrange for you. Our office hours are 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The brokerage is closed New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. When do I need to be ready?
Please be ready 15 minutes before your scheduled pick up time. This courtesy will ensure everyone gets to their appointment on time.
What if my plans change?
If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please call immediately. If it is outside our normal business hours, our telephone system will record a message for you. If a transportation provider comes to get you and you do not go or are not there, this is considered a no show. When you are a no show, the transportation provider does not get paid for their services. If you get a history of no shows, it will be difficult for us to find a provider that is willing to transport you.
What do I need to have ready when I call for a ride?
- Pick-up address & phone number.
- Destination address.
- Date & time of appointment.
- Name & phone number of medical provider.
- Purpose of the appointment.
You may be eligible for mileage reimbursement if you use your own vehicle to drive to a covered service medical appointment. The mileage reimbursement rate is $ .25 per mile. For more information, click here. Please call the Medical brokerage prior to your appointment. Failure to do so will result in a denial.
We require you wait 30 days after sending your mileage verification to us before calling about your payment if it has not been received.
The time it takes us to process your reimbursement from the date you sent it is 30-45 days. If you fail to send your verification within 45 days from the date of your appointment, it will be denied.
